ETA-4 Track Shape
This
new standard ETA-4 track shape will be offered in early 09’ and feature
a weld free splice design like that of the ETA-8 shape launched in
07’. This shape will retain
compatibility with the existing track shape and utilize all of the ETA-4
components currently offered. This
redesign also features improved deflection and greater rated load at
similar spans.

GM Lordstown Assembly
Center
Unified
was selected as the source for tool rail used in the trim area of the
plant, as well as body shop inner and outer aperture OPF carriers in the refit
for the upcoming launch of the Chevy Cruze.
The carriers were supplied to Dearborn Mid-West Conveyor.

Aperture Carriers
Ford Motor Company, Cuautitlan Mexico
ETA-5 Rail
systems were supplied to this facility for product launch in the body shop
area of the plant. The added rail
strength provided by ETA-5 was just what these applications needed in order
to satisfy requirements.
BMW
Oxbow Machine Products selected
Unified to provide rails systems for various tooling applications for the
BMW F25 Powertrain Assist Equipment at the Spartanburg SC
plant.
IPF Paint Carriers for Chrysler JNAP
Unified provided to Dearborn
Mid-West Conveyor IPF Paint Carriers for their project at Chrysler
Jefferson north Plant in Detroit
to launch the new Grand Cherokee.

Frame Turnover Bridges for the Ford Kentucky Truck Plant.
Unified provided two frame
turnover bridges to Kuka Systems North America which will be installed for
the launch of the F-Series, Expedition / Navigator vehicles at the Ford
Kentucky Truck Plant. These bridges
are used to carry new tooling (provided by Kuka) for frame rotation and
placement into an IPF carrier.

Rework.
Unified
was selected to provide conveyor fabrications to Dearborn Mid-West Conveyor
for their work at the Ford Kentucky Truck Plant Paint Shop Rework.
Two
strand conveyor and associated details were among the fabrications
provided.
Top
notch fabrication is only part of the package. Unified’s process and
inspection controls are in place to help avoid costly field rework and keep
the customers project on schedule.
This
project will move the current vehicle at the Michigan Truck Plant to this
facility to make room for a smaller vehicle platform at the Michigan Plant.

ETA End Caps & Primary Stops
Effective
immediately, Unified Industries, Inc. will be introducing new end stops
for our ETA-4, ETA-8 & ETA-X product line. The new end stops will be made from
Polyurethane. The old design will no longer be available. All outstanding
quotes will be converted to the new standard end stop design at the time
of order.

Unified Industries Selected for G.M. Oshawa
Deliveries to the General Motors Oshawa
Assembly Plant in Ontario
Canada
began last Month. Unified was selected for this project based upon
its long standing reputation for quality and product offerings. The
scope of this project includes Trim & Chassis for the new 2009
Chevrolet Camaro.

ETA-5 - Compact
Strength
A new shape to
provide greater capacity through reduced deflection will be available in
February 08. The new ETA-5 rail
system will utilize all of the standard components of our ETA-4 line and
offer greater rated loads between hanging centers.
Additional
features:

design for faster install.

ETA-5 is made
from the same high strength aluminum alloy as ETA-4 and ETA-8.

High impact urethane
endcaps (both single and double) offer great strength without adding
unnecessary weight.

Unified provided
paint carriers to Dearborn Mid-West Conveyor for the DCX St. Louis
“DS” Program. These carriers are over 20 feet in length and
are designed to carry the cab and box, as a unit, on each carrier. Fabrication of these carriers was
carried out under stringent inspection and testing methods such as
magnetic particle inspection of welds to detect cracks and ultrasonic
inspection for soundness and penetration.
CMM certification of fixtures was used to place all perch
locations assuring accurate and consistent assembly of these carriers.
DS Paint Carriers Staged in Shipping
Unified will also provide
(9) Overhead Power & Free Rear Structure Carriers to DMW for DCX
Brampton Assembly. These carriers support the rear floor sheet metal used
in the body shop for the Magnum and New Challenger.

The best just got
better!
ETA-8, The shape that
started the aluminum rail revolution in the material handling industry
has been improved by incorporating a weld-less splice and new larger
contact area on the bottom flange.
These new
improvements, aid installation, offer an improved drive unit contact area
and yield improved deflection ratios.
After rigorous
testing to assure strength and durability, this shape will be available
in May 2007 and will replace the current ETA-8. This shape will
also ensure field compatibility with the previous shape where needed.

Ohio
State
School
of Engineering
Unified has teamed up
with Stanley Assembly Technologies to participate in the Center for
Occupational Health in Manufacturing Sciences at Ohio
State University.
Unified was proud to provide its rail system that Stanley Assembly
Technologies will use with its Cobotics Intelligent Assist Device.

In January 2007,
Unified Industries, Inc. donated to the Detroit
Science Center,
an Enclosed Track Bridge System which is now on display at the Fun
Factory exhibit at the center. In cooperation with Ergomatic
Systems Inc., who provided the lifting device, Unified can help give the
opportunity for people of all ages a chance to experience a "hands
on" role in the industry as we know it today. The Fun Factory
also features other displays like a door handling conveyor provided by
Dearborn Mid-West Conveyor. With 27 hands on exhibits, the Fun
Factory will take Science Center
visitors into the world of manufacturing with four different exhibit
areas.

Unified Industries, Inc.
received its 5 year longevity award as a designated Clean Corporate
Citizen (C-3) by the State of Michigan.
Unified first received this designation in September 2001 being the 40th
company overall to receive such an honor. Coupled with our ISO
14001 certification, this C3 award demonstrates the level of commitment
Unified and its employees have made to our surrounding community and
environment as a whole.

Delivery of the door pallets
is in full swing with shipments leaving the Howell facility every 2-3
days. Dearborn Mid-West Conveyor is using these pallets to fill its
door line delivery conveyor at the Honda Motors plant in Marysville Ohio.

Work is now beginning
for the body shop expansion at the Ford Motor company NMPDC
facility. Unified is providing header steel and enclosed track
bridge systems for this project.

Unified Industries, Inc. was selected by Dearborn
Mid-West Conveyor to supply Door Pallets for their Door Line Delivery
Conveyor that is to be installed at the Honda Motors Plant in Marysville Ohio
later this year. These Pallets are part of a “Doors Off” line
that will support the door while trim operations are completed.

Cutting Saws increase production
As part of a shop wide initiative to increase
productivity through capital investment, Unified has integrated two, high
output, production saws. The
capacity of these saws will decrease cut time by more than 50% as well as
increasing the level of cut accuracy.

Unified Cable
Saddle
Unified now offers a more effective way to
hold cable / hose on your rail application. The new Unified Cable Saddle
will attach to any of our festoon trolley assemblies. This new attachment
improves cable / hose storage by offsetting the saddle 30° which
allows more use of the rail area. Contact someone in our Sales Department

Renewal
Unified retained its Clean Corporate Citizen
(C-3) designation with the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality
for a fourth straight year. C-3 companies like Unified are recognized by
the MDEQ for their industry / community environmental leadership and
strong environmental compliance record. This designation coupled with our
ISO 14001 Certification demonstrates the level of commitment Unified has
towards its customers and community.

March 2006
Unified successfully completed its upgrade to
ISO 14001:2004. Auditors from T.U.V. America completed a thorough
examination of Unified’s environmental management system
recommending it for certification. This completes Unified’s
Management System upgrades to both ISO 9001:2000 (Oct. 05) and now ISO
14001:2004.

October 2005
ISO 9001:2000
Certified
On September 28, Unified completed its certification
audit to ISO 9001:2000. After being certified to QS-9000 TE for over 7 years,
Unified has upgraded to the new standard a full year ahead of the
expiration of QS-9000. This new certification was issued on October 26th.
While the certification has changed, the management
system has remained intact and will continue to support Unified's
Business and Quality Objectives.

New
ownership
January 2nd, 2005, Unified was again taken private with
the purchase of 100% of its stock.
An updated facility with a dynamic inventory system gives
Unified the flexibility to offer a wider variety of products and
services.
While continuing to manufacture its Patented and Enclosed
Track Bridge Systems and Trolleys on which it's reputation was built,
Unified now supplies specialty equipment like, Automotive Conveyor
Fabrications, and Body Carriers.
